Keep your flow
One more good puzzle.
A little more to discover.
Follow the edge of the land
A coastline is more than a line on a map. This list mixes landforms such as a headland, spit and tombolo with materials and landscape words such as shingle, sediment and shoreline. A barrier island is separated from the mainland; a tombolo connects an offshore landform to it. The contrast gives the similar-looking coastal terms a useful starting point.
Look beyond the word SEA
Twenty-four targets run forward, backward and diagonally through a 22 × 22 grid. Several compounds begin with SEA, but SEA alone is not a preset target. The printed list shows the complete spellings. Online, check whether your full selection has been accepted before assuming that a familiar fragment completes one of the hidden words.
Turn vocabulary into a sketch
After solving, draw a simple coast with a bay, headland and beach. Add one depositional feature, then compare your sketch with a coastal geography reference. It need not describe a real place, and the puzzle is not a guide to visiting cliffs or tidal areas. Rocks & Earth Science provides another view of landscape vocabulary.
Choose the right paper version
Download either the Letter or A4 puzzle and its separate answer sheet. Compounds appear without spaces in the letter grid, matching the supplied target spellings. Print at actual size with the same paper size selected in the viewer. Keep an answer sheet aside for checking the longer backward paths; no new layout is generated when you download again.
