Words for a journey by rail

A platform, ticket and seat set the scene before the train moves. Windows, tunnels and bridges suggest things to notice along the route. This board uses a small collection of familiar railway and travel words; it is not a guide to any operator’s ticketing system. Share a favorite journey after completing the search.

A board with only two directions

The fourteen targets run left to right or top to bottom in a 14 × 14 grid. There are no backwards or diagonal words. Use the visible list to pick a longer target such as CARRIAGE, then confirm each letter along its line. You can pause the online timer whenever your attention needs to return to the journey.

Pack a short activity

A paper copy can fill a quiet stretch of travel without a network connection. At home, the same vocabulary can begin a conversation about stations people remember or places they would like to visit. The puzzle does not require knowledge of train models. Village Stroll offers another travel-at-your-own-pace subject in the related collection.
