Keep your flow
One more good puzzle.
A little more to discover.
Look at the water and its edges
This collection brings together animals you might associate with ponds and the nearby air or bank. A tadpole is a young amphibian stage rather than a separate animal group; SKATER is used here for the pond-skater insect. Species and visitors vary by region and season. The board does not claim that every listed animal occurs in the same pond.
Use the visible list
Fourteen targets run forward across and down in a 14 × 14 grid. No diagonal or backward paths are used. The longer insect names can be useful anchors when the short targets are harder to spot. Trace one whole word or select its two ends; the progress marks show which listed targets have been accepted.
Compare different ways of moving
After solving, choose a word for an animal that flies and one for an animal that swims or moves along the edge. Some animals can belong in more than one group, which makes a useful discussion. Observe wildlife without handling it. Woodland Animals and Garden Birds provide other nature searches with different target lists.
Keep the answer for checking
Download the Letter or A4 puzzle sheet and its separate answer. Set the viewer to the selected paper size and actual size before printing. The word list stays on the puzzle page, together with its permanent URL. The printed answer matches the online frozen board, so there is no need to generate a different layout.
